Informative Articles About Ingredients in Gabe's Own Salve re: Eczema

I believe it's really important for people to be informed, so I want to make sure everyone has access to the information to make informed decisions without spending hours on the internet (or years, if you're trying to come up with your own formula!). I make no claims about my products being able to do anything to treat or cure any maladies, disorders, or other health issues, and you should always consult your doctor, especially when using essential oils if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Having said that, Gabe's Own Salve is a salve that contains ingredients that have the scientific backing to do what I designed it to do - moisturize and relieve severely dry, cracked, potentially itchy skin.

Below you will find several studies on the ingredients I chose that also happen to mention their efficacy, or potential efficacy, on healing, inflammation,  bacteria, eczema and in some cases psoriasis among other things. PLEASE keep in mind that if you have eczema, and you have allergies, you MAY have allergic reactions which would make your eczema worse if you are unaware of those allergies (particularly with coconut oil).

The Optiphen is a natural preservative. Without it, this mixture wouldn't last more than 2-3 weeks. Even with it, I recommend you keep your jar in the refrigerator to keep it stable for longer than 6 months - it could last up to a year with the Optiphen alone, but if you can store it in the refrigerator, it will extend the shelf life, so it's up to you. I'll post the benefits of the chosen ingredients for psoriasis in a separate post!
